Bagh-i-Shahi (King's Garden) Palace, Jalalabad: Phase I Amir Abdur Rahman Period.

Early 1920s
Afghan royalty built many grand palaces in Jalalabad. The main entrance to the Bagh-i-Shahi Palace built by Abdur Rahman (1880-1901) in 1882 was on the south side. The Amir Designed his own palaces, favoring arcuated systems clearly derived from Islamic traditions found in Central Asian where he spent many years in exile because of his opposition to Amir Sher Ali (1863-66; 1868-79). Copy of b/w Souvenir postcard printed in Paris in 1922, 1926, 1928 taken in February 1976.
