The Heroon of Kineas stood at the entrance to a grandiose 250 x 300 meter Administrative Quarter where the royal palace was located in the rear. It covered 3 hectares (7.5 acres). The impressive 200-meter-square colonnaded courtyard, was bordered on four sides with 9-meter-high stone columns topped with pseudo-Corinthian columns.
