Copy of color post card in Souvenir Afghanistan printed in Paris in 1922, 1924, 1928 Qalat us-Seraj Palace was built by Amir Habibullah ca. 1912-13 at Tigri, now called Mehtarlam, the capital of Laghman Province. The Amir was assassinated on 20 February 1919 while on a hunting trip near Tigri.
Two-storey entrance façade with arched portico. Notice spindly smoke stakes on peaked roof characteristic of Amir Habibullah's buildings.
Faces large garden on east. Wall of inner courtyard in background. with bastion of outer courtyard to right.
