Collapsible Golden Crown. Gold From Tillya Tepe. Near Sheberghan, Jawzjan Province.
The 29 to 30-year-old woman facing west buried in Burial 6 must have been a regal lady of note for she wore a golden crown made of five detachable panels of stylized trees with six branches, each filled with six-petalled flowers from which flat disks dangled. The crown could be dismantled and packed safely in a camel-bag when travelling.
