Dasht-i-Nawur, is a large, volcanic-tectonic basin 60 kilometers west of Ghazni city. Forty kilometers long by 15 kilometers wide, was designated a wild-life preserve for breeding and nesting birds that migrate through this area. It also provides ideal pasturage in the summer for nomadic groups.
