Pottery from Aq Kupruk. Balkh Province.
1965
Plain wares, including large whole limestone tempered storage jars from the later Iron Age ca. 600 CE, were found in abundance, but there was also a series of buff ware with painted designs in black or two shades of red. Dot-tipped crosses, scrolls and connected triangles were popular motifs.
