Tubular Spangles. Gold from Tillya Tepe. Near Sheberghan, Jawzjan Province.

Some spangles were tubular, 1.1 cm. long with a diameter of .02 cm, rolled from thin sheets of gold. This group of 508 tuplets also from Burial 4 weighed a total of 69.49 grams. Still other forms were inlayed with turquoise and lapis lazuli and edged with granulation, such as a group of 85 from Burial 1, where the average dimension was 1.3 x 1.1 cm. the thickness 0.3-0.4 cm. The total weight of this group was 81 grams.
