Shahrara, a village hardly two kilometers half-way between the Arg and Bagh-i-Bala, was the site chosen next for what was to be the Amir's last palace. The tip of its tower is just visible in the background on the right in this image taken over the rooftops of a modern section of Kabul called Shahrara..
