This trip taken by Louis Dupree from 24-29 July 1985 was hosted by Pir Gailani, leader of the Hezb-i-Mahaz-i-Melli Islami political party. Purpose of the Mission was 1) to check out the airport at Matun, and, 2) to check the fire control data of a Multi-Barreled Rocket Launcher (MBRL).
On border with Pakistan, just inside Afghanistan. Inside a hut.
