King Kanishka in pieces. On 17 March 2001, Qadratullah Jamal, newly appointed Minister of Culture in October 2000 and his cohorts smashed 80 cases of objects at the Ministry of Information and Culture, moving on to the Museum where they took a sledgehammer to King Kanishka the Tepe Maranjan Bodhisattva and other major pieces.
