Aq Kupruk (White Bridge), on the Balkh River 25 miles west of Dara-i-Dadil were concluded by Dr. Dupree in 1965. Several phases of man's development in Afghanistan are represented at these sites. The Iron Age burial dating from the AD-BC line and the 1st millenium B.C included 10 or 11 individual skeletons buried with such luxury items as bronze mirrors, bracelets, rings, iron weapons and horse trappings, lapis lazuli and carnelian beads, lamps, ungent jars, etc.
