Plaster Casts From Begram. Kapisa Province.

1965
Subjects vary: there were portraits, some in very high relief, Greek legends such as Ganymede, the Cupbearer of the Gods, feeding Zeus' eagle, sleeping female maenads, devotees, of Dionysus. There were also gentle scenes such as this sensitive portrayal of a young boy offering grapes to a baby lying in a hammock tied to a tree. Most were about 12 and 15 centimeters in diameter.
