Necklace on the Bodice of Burial 5. Gold From Tillya Tepe. Near Sheberghan, Jawzjan Province.

2017
Like all the others, the lady aged between 18 and 20 lying with her head turned to the west in Burial 5 wore a thin golden chin strap (32 cm. long and 3.0 cm wide; weighing 22.95 grams), but there were fewer objects around her. The body was wrapped in several layers of shrouds sewn with silver, not gold plaques, and placed in a hollowed-out tree trunk instead of a coffin. Only a few pearls adorned her cloak, but on her bodice was a necklace (total weight 112.23 grams) with 41 pendants (4.1 cm. long) composed of golden balls in the first row; circles inlaid with bright red garnets and turquoise alternating with plain back-to-back crescents in the 2nd; inlaid teardrops in the 3rd; and flat gold disks in the 4th. All were outlined with heavy granulation.
