Shifting the National Museum: Taliban.
September 1996
The Taliban took Kabul on 27 September 1996, sealed the Kabul Hotel on the 28th, and, in October 1998, shifted everything from the Kabul Hotel to the ground floor of the Ministry of Information and Culture where another twenty cases were already stored. Over the next years Mullah Omar issued ten edicts calling for the protection of cultural sites and relics. On 17 August 2000 Deputy Minister Hotaki staged a symbolic 3-day opening of the museum.
