Eucratides I Coin, Reverse. Kunduz Hoard, Kunduz Province.
The reverse gives the king's name and the Dioscuri, the twin sons of Zeus, known for their taming horses, for their horsemanship and respected for their valor in helping those in need. During his reign vicious rivalries within families began (Euthydemos was murdered by his own son) and between the dynasties of Euthydemeos and Eucratides. Beset with internal weaknesses, persona rivalries, fratricide, murder, as well as overextended in their conquests, the imperious Bactrians faded from history.
