Women dressed in the new fashions hopped without burqas or escorts, making selections according to their own tastes. Others less bold kept their burqas on but also shopped and moved about freely on their own. It was up to families, men and women together, to decide whether their women should now become a part of public spaces, for work and for pleasure. Little conservative objections therefore surfaced.
