The Other Side of the Mountain - Ziarat-i-Sakhi.

21 March 1974
The venerated shrine of Ziarat-i-Sakhi stands on a knoll to the east of Kabul University. The shrine commemorates the few days the Cloak of the Prophet Mohammad was kept here on its journey from Badakhshan to Kandahar in 1766 during the reign of Amir Dost Mohammad Khan. While he was bringing the north under his rule, the Amir had received the cloak from Amir Murad Beg of Bokharai as a token binding a treaty between the two states. The Cloak now lies in a highly revered shrine in Kandahar.
