Amir Habibullah Period, Phase II Chihlsotoon Palace (Forty Pillars): after 1901.
1920a
According to a plaque at the bottom of the hill dated 26 August 1889 the Amir presented Chihlsotoon to his son, Prince Habibullah, who replaced the delicate balustrade with a complex system of pitched roofs, enclosed all but six columns, altered the entrance by adding pediments, adding, heavy staircases with iron railings and transforming the original fan-shaped flights of steps. Color Souvenir postcard printed in Paris during the 1920s.
