The haremserai was built by Amir Habibullah in 1909 to accommodate his growing family of 23 sons and 25 daughters. The large pediment over the main entrance visible in the background is typical of his architectural style. The scene depicts a mock wedding with daughter Razia at the harmonium, from the Khalilullah Enayat Siraj Collection, a-7 KES 249.
