Note the unauthorized housing on the slopes of Koh-i-Asmai in background. The modern Jangalak industrial compound, opened in 1961, occupied the foreground at the foot of Bagh-i-Babur. It manufactured industrial machinery, agricultural implements, vehicle bodies, furniture, ceramics and textiles. It was later destroyed.
