Museum Compound. Islamic State of Afghanistan.
June 1995
The train that had connected Kabul and Darulaman in the 1920s when King Amanullah was building his new city had stood in good condition in its terminal station until 1978 when the leftist Democratic Republic of Afghanistan moved it to the museum compound. There it fell victim to vandals collecting metal for sale in the booming scrap metal markets in Pakistan.
