Info

The Other Side of the Mountain: Kabul University.

December 1974
By 1974 numerous faculty buildings had been constructed, extensive plantings were growing on the Kabul University Campus which covered 500 jeribs (248 acres). Enrollment stood at 9000 in 1976. By 2016 the enrollment had increased to 16,980, with girls accounting for about half. The campus is one of the few green areas left in Kabul due to the fact that the mujahideen protected it as a safe haven during the civil war. The faculty offices and laboratory buildings, however, did not fare so well. All were looted.
