Jalalabad Walk. This series of 116 images records a walk from Kabul to Jalalabad taken by Louis Dupree on 8-13 January 1963 to retrace the retreat route of the British Army from Kabul to Jalalabad on 6-13 January 1842. The description/captions are from handwritten notes by Louis Dupree. Photos are arranged in six groupings:
K - 8 Jan. - Kabul to Butkhak
KK - 8 Jan. - Kabul to Khord Kabul and Malik Khel, via Band-i-Ghazi
KT - 9 Jan. - Malik Khel to Duran Khe, via Taraki
TT - 9 Jan. - Tangi to Tezin, via Taraki, Khak-i-Jabbar, Haft Gandao
TJ - 10-11 Jan. - Tezin to Jigdalak, via Seh Baba, Lataband
JJ - 12 Jan. - Jigdalak to Jalalabad, via Kolola, Surkh Ab, Gandamak. Nimla, Fattehabad.
