Amir Habibullah (1901-1919) bult a series of rest houses along the road from Kabul to Jalalabad. All were similar to bungalow architecture in British India. Here at the Bauli rest house Soraya, wife of Prince Amanullah, and her sister, Hurya, pose in one of the Amir's extensive fleet of motor cars. They wear especially design "touring hats".
